Having counselling is about giving yourself the opportunity to be genuinely heard by someone who is trained to
listen without judgment and be with you regardless of the difficulties you may be experiencing in your life. As your counsellor, I will facilitate confidential exploration of problems you feel may be negatively impacting your life, and work with you to identify and make changes you choose to.
To enable this to happen effectively, choosing a counsellor you feel comfortable enough with is key, and so an initial discussion over the telephone with me will help you to decide. This first discussion gives us both the opportunity to decide if we feel we can work together, will offer me greater understanding of what brings you to counselling and what you hope to achieve.
Our sessions take place each week and are 60 minutes long. They can be for an agreed number of weeks or open ended, depending on your needs and requirements. Regular reviews take place where we check how our work together is progressing and decide if a change of direction may be appropriate , or perhaps agree to working towards a planned ending.
As your counsellor I work at your pace and according to your own needs, this is your time to be used as you wish.
